Photo Travel Diary: Pakistan- Auto Rickshaws

Hello wonderful people of the internet! (: How are you all? I have tons of photo diaries headed your way this month, so stay tuned! Here are a few pictures I took of the rickshaws from my trip to Pakistan in March. Enjoy!

Rick·shaw: a three-wheeled “passenger cart.” It can be pulled by a driver on a bicycle or motorbike.  It is a very common form of urban transport in countless countries (mainly Asian).

Fun facts:

  • All over Pakistan,  motorcycle rickshaws are usually called “chingchi” after the Chinese company Jinan Qingqi Motorcycle Co. Ltd (this company first introduced these to the market, which is why you see their logo on many of the rickshaws).
  • Rickshaws are forbidden in Islamabad (the capital of Pakistan).
